Suki Strengthens Revenue Cycle at the Point of Care with Expanded Coding Capabilities

Coding tasks make up a large part of the administrative burden that clinicians face each day. In fact, nearly 20% of the time clinicians spend on paperwork is for coding and billing. For each patient visit, clinicians need to document their services accurately and translate that information into billing codes. To get reimbursed, every diagnosis and procedure must be properly coded, requiring familiarity with complex code sets and ever-changing guidelines. Errors lead to missed charge capture, delayed payments, or even denials. Re-working claims is time-consuming and costly, and with 65% of denied claims never appealed, billions are lost each year.

Expanding Suki’s role in assisted revenue cycle

Suki is addressing this challenge head-on. Our ambient AI already generates comprehensive clinical notes at the point of care. Now, we are expanding our assisted revenue cycle capabilities, empowering clinicians with more accurate, automated coding directly within their workflow.

New enhancements enable Suki to:

  • Auto-generate ICD-10 and HCC codes, identifying the most specific diagnosis and associated risk adjustment codes discussed during the visit.
  • Generate CPT E/M codes, analyzing each note to determine the most appropriate service level using both time-based and medical decision making complexity criteria.
  • Provide transparent rationale showing supporting evidence from the note so clinicians can quickly review and adjust as needed.

When the note is submitted, codes flow automatically into the correct fields in supported EHRs, ensuring smooth integration and accurate downstream billing.

Reducing guesswork and improving accuracy

By auto-generating codes, Suki removes the guesswork and minimizes manual errors. Clinicians can stay focused on patient care without having to worry about accurate coding or not having an audit trail weeks or months down the road.

A differentiated approach

While most ambient solutions stop at documentation, Suki goes further. By combining ambient documentation with assisted revenue cycle capabilities, Suki closes the gap between care delivery and reimbursement, maximizing charge capture, improving accuracy, and reducing administrative drag.

Looking ahead

This expansion is just the beginning. Soon, Suki will extend coding capabilities to include procedures and expand into inpatient and emergency department settings, driving efficiency across the continuum of care.

At Suki, we recognize the urgent need to relieve clinicians of administrative burden while helping health systems maximize reimbursement accuracy. With our growing assisted revenue cycle capabilities, we’re turning documentation from a burden into a strategic asset, one that drives revenue growth and increases employee satisfaction.
