As 2024 comes to a close, we’re proud of the remarkable progress we’ve made in making healthcare technology assistive and invisible. From robust multilingual support to deeper integrations with major EHRs including Epic, Athena, Oracle Health, and MEDITECH, and our solutions have helped clinicians improve efficiency so they can focus on patient care.

We also launched Suki Platform, an AI-powered voice platform that healthcare companies from EHRs to telehealth solutions, can use to add Suki’s AI capabilities into their products. And finally, we partnered with tech leaders with Zoom and Google Cloud, bringing AI-powered solutions to thousands of healthcare organizations.

Read on to see our top 10 highlights of 2024!

1. 4x growth & $70M raised – 2024 was an incredible year with 4x growth – a testament to the growing excitement and engagement from the healthcare community. We also secured $70 million in new funding, enabling us to accelerate product development, expand our capabilities, and deepen our relationships with strategic partners.

2. Suki Platform AI-enables healthcare applications – We expanded our product suite to offer Suki Platform, a suite of developer tools for technology partners who can embed Suki’s AI capabilities in their solutions. Suki’s EHR program makes it seamless for EHRs to add innovative AI features quickly and with minimal development effort.

3. Continuing to deepen EHR integrations – Whether you prechart in the EHR and finish your note in Suki, or start your note in Suki and pull in the latest data from the EHR, note content always stays in sync between the two. You can use Suki Assistant in this way with Epic, Athena, Oracle Health, MEDITECH, and many other EHRs we integrate with, so you always have the latest patient data.

“With Suki ambient documentation, I can pull the pieces and parts from ambient as well as maintain the other pieces I use in Epic. The ambient generated content flows into Epic seamlessly into my note.”

Dr. Bobby Dupre, CMIO Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System

4. Expanded tech partnerships
– We’ve joined forces with Zoom and Google Cloud to enhance healthcare productivity. With roughly 140,000 global healthcare organizations using the Zoom platform, Zoom is working with us to provide AI-generated clinical note functionality to their clinicians. With Google Cloud, we are bringing Q&A capabilities in the medical domain to life. Starting this Spring, you can ask when a patient’s last EKG was or whether two medications interact.

5. Patient summaries –  As we move towards building more assistive capabilities for clinicians, we recently announced patient summaries in Suki Assistant to help you better prepare for patient visits. Rather than spending time the night before reviewing charts and scanning past visits, you can now access concise patient summaries which includes ED/Inpatient and visits to specialists.

6. Custom sections – Suki Assistant can generate ambient content for customized note sections. Whether it’s Past Cardiac History, Medication History, Health Maintenance, Pediatric Sleep, or any other custom section you need, Suki is the only solution that offers this level of customization. And psssst we have an exciting update in the new year, taking customization to the next level. Stay tuned!

7. Multilingual capabilities – We love hearing from customers like you who have been using Suki Assistant for your ambient sessions in Spanish, Arabic, Farsi, Chinese, Telugu, and Hindi! Suki supports 80+ languages, saving you time so you don’t have to translate visits to English.

“Being able to converse in both Spanish and English has been so great. I can flip back-and-forth between English and Spanish, even within the same sentences, and the translation into the note has accurately captured the details I need.”

-Dr. Jamie South, M.S., D.O., Obstetrics and Gynecology
Brazos Valley Women’s Center

8. Improved ambient problem-based charting
– By recognizing the problems discussed during the visit and generating problem-based plan suggestions, Suki Assistant captures clear and comprehensive plan documentation. Within Suki you can easily attach ICD-10 diagnosis codes to simplify the coding and billing process.

“When the patient comes in to re-check a skin lesion, that’s probably 99212. But if we also check their hypertension, speech difficulty, arthritis, and any other medical problems they are experiencing, Suki captures all of that and now the complexity of that visit is 99214, jumping two levels of billing.”

- Dr. Louis Harris, Family Medicine and CMIO
Citizens Memorial Hospital

9. 30+ new specialties
– As Suki Assistant continues to support and expand into new specialties, our specialty-focused prompts allow us to improve the quality of our ambient suggestions. Whether you’re a psychiatric and behavioral health specialist, or surgical specialist, we’ve streamlined our ambient prompts to capture the details and medical terms you need.

10. Embedded dictation within EHR – The Chrome extension for MEDITECH users combines Suki Assistant’s ambient AI with the ability to dictate directly into Expanse. This offers a streamlined experience for creating notes where you can seamlessly copy/paste from the Chrome extension window. Stay tuned as we expand this capability to other EHRs in the new year!

And that’s a wrap! We’re excited for what’s ahead as we continue driving innovation in healthcare. Thanks for being part of our journey. See you in 2025!
